2018 Quills: Podcasting

Richard Baker, Rachael Dexter, Greg Muller and Tim Young won the 2018 Podcasting Quill for the series 'Wrong Skin'.

Judges' citation

Wrong Skin is the best example of what podcasting can be for journalism. The compelling story of Aboriginal lovers Julie and Richard, who vanished in the Kimberley in 1994, was broken through podcast; a story made possible only through strong investigative skill and building trust with sources to convince them to put their voices to events that many were afraid to share. Respectful and revealing, it is creatively presented with strong production values. The impact is felt not only by those who listen but also by what this work has achieved for those in the Kimberley.
