More than 100 friends and former colleagues of legendary Age cartoonist Ron Tandberg gathered on 5 March 2018 to celebrate his career and launch a book and exhibition of some of his last work.

Tandberg died in early January after a short  battle with cancer – drawing almost to the end to chronicle his fight against “The Big C”.

The event launched the book A Year of Madness published by Wilkinson Publishing and a companion exhibition of the cartoons in the Age gallery at Media House in Collins Street.

Speakers included author and cartoonist Kaz Cooke, former Age editor Mike Smith and former Age assistant publisher Mike Richards.

Guests included a roll call of past and present Age cartoonists including Peter Nicholson, John Spooner, Michael Leunig, Matt Golding and Andrew Dyson.
