Pulitzer prize winning journalist Steve Doig addressed The Age journalists on Wednesday 23 May and Herald Sun journalists the following day on the benefits of data journalism to create and reinforce stories.

Pulitzer prize winning journalist Steve Doig addressed The Age journalists on Wednesday 23 May and Herald Sun journalists the following day on the benefits of data journalism to create and reinforce stories.

Steve Doig is currently the Knight Chair in Journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, teaching graduate courses on Journalism Skills and Media Research Methods.

His career includes 23 years as a newspaper journalist, including 19 years at the Miami Herald. During his time at there, he worked in a number of roles, including research editor, pollster, science editor, columnist, federal courts reporter, state capital bureau chief, education reporter and aviation writer.

He specialises in computer-assisted reporting; the use of computers and social science techniques to help journalists do their jobs better.
