Judges’ citation:

Stephanie Convery’s exclusive report exposed a clear case of structural inequality; that people with a disability working in supported employment were legally being paid less superannuation that the rest of the workforce. Her subsequent articles also humanised the impact of the bureaucratic failure by including the perspectives of workers directly affected. The issue was subsequently picked up by other media outlets and placed pressure on decision-makers to address the oversight, exemplifying how journalism can drive social change.
