“This is an excellent set of images that required discipline and forethought to be in the position where it unfolded. Great skill is needed to get these shots. Every image is strong, but the winning image is the third in the set (IMG.7846), where we can see the driver George Russell’s concern as he stares down the lens, making it a compelling, gripping image. We get a sense that the driver is cognisant that, at any moment, he could be collected by another competitor. Motorsport is often quite formulaic in its coverage. To see a set like this, and the winning image that shows such emotion, as well as action, is exceptional coverage.”
