Rebecca Borg of the Herald Sun has won the Young Journalist of the Year Quill for her coverage of the VCCA cover sheet scandal.
This award is sponsored by Wilnic Family Trust.
Judges’ statement
The VCCA cover sheet scandal and the rise of anti-Semitism at Victorian universities are two examples of investigative excellence and agenda setting journalism. The sustained exclusives and breaking news splashes led to the resignation of a CEO and prompted the Education Minister to conduct a ”root and branch” review. Rebecca is a prolific writer with a bright future ahead.
