2012 Quill Awards overview


The 2012 Quill Awards for Excellence in Victorian Journalism were held on Friday 15 March 2013. 

Total prize money for the Quills exceeded $20,000, thanks to generous sponsorship of the Melbourne Press Club, especially from Monash University.

Sarah Ferguson and Deborah Masters took home the Monash University Gold Quill, for their Four Corners report about alleged people smuggler Captain Emad.

The 2012 Gold Quill carried a $5,000 prize. Category winners received $500 and a Quills trophy.

Judging panels for the Quills, drawing on present and former journalists and editors and other relevant professionals,were assembled by the Melbourne Press Club.

Apply to join the Melbourne Press Club

Membership is $100 for journalists, $150 for associate members and $40 for students.
