Richard Baker and Nick McKenzie won the 2014 Quill for Best News Report in Writing.
Judges’ statement:
In a competitive field, this series of reports exposed a massive failing at our airport borders at a time when border protection formed a central policy of the Government. With compelling story telling, which included a highly-effective online element, Baker and McKenzie revealed systemic failures through detailed reporting over a number of days.
Highly Commended
