2018 Quills: The VicHealth Quill for Coverage of Women in Sport


Samantha Lane of The Age has won the inaugural VicHealth Quill for Coverage of Women in Sport for the recently published book 'ROAR: The stories behind AFLW - A movement bigger than sport'. The book was published by Penguin Random House.

Judges' citation

Sam's book ROAR shows a deep understanding and involvement in the evolution of the AFL women's league. Her commitment to this issue was evident in powerful, sensitively written stories that marked this significant sporting milestone.
