We’re looking for a Victorian media student, recent graduate or early-career journalist to help foster the next generation of our industry.
The Edit is a Melbourne Press Club initiative designed to support young and emerging journalists. Through networking events, panel discussions, and practical workshops, we create opportunities for connection, learning, and growth.
Our subcommittee plays a key role in shaping this offering—by planning events, sourcing speakers, and ensuring The Edit continues to serve the needs of the next generation of journalists.
About you
- You’re a Victorian media student, recent graduate or early-career journalist (within the first five years of your career)
- You’re passionate about journalism and supporting your peers
- You’re organised, reliable, and a great communicator
- You’re keen to grow your network and gain experience behind the scenes of industry events
About the role
- You’ll collaborate with other committee members to brainstorm and plan The Edit events
- Help organise and promote panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities
- Contribute ideas to support and engage young journalists
- Be an ambassador for The Edit within the journalism community.
- Please note: as with all MPC board and subcommittee roles, this is a volunteer position.
