Legends of Australian Journalism

From the first convict-era newspapers to contemporary journalism in print, broadcast media and on new digital platforms, great journalism has built, enriched and defended our democracy.

Join us – and leaders from throughout our industry – at this gala dinner in Melbourne in November to complete the national foundation of the Australian Media Hall of Fame with the induction of 50 late and living legends of journalism from across the country. Our special guest will be John Silvester, the doyen of crime journalism.

The Media Hall of Fame was launched in 2011 by the Melbourne Press Club to celebrate Victoria’s finest reporters, editors, broadcasters, photographers, cartoonists and commentators and last year expanded to embrace the legends of journalism in New South Wales.

Among this year’s inductees are the greats from Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the territories – as well as more big names from Victoria.

All are welcome to attend. Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
