About Jacinta Allan
Ms Jacinta Allan is Victoria’s 49th Premier, the longest serving female Minister in Australia’s history and Victoria’s longest serving Labor Minister.
Ms Allan’s priorities as Premier are: making life better for families and their children, building the infrastructure growing Victoria needs – and finding new and innovative ways to strengthen our state’s economic prosperity.
Formally the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, she oversaw the transformation of Victoria’s rail and road networks.
This includes the Metro Tunnel, Victoria’s biggest rail project in more than 40 years, and the North East Link – the most significant road project in our state’s history.
Throughout her Ministerial career, Ms Allan also held portfolios in Industry and Trade, Regional Development, Skills, Employment, Education Services and Youth Affairs. Ms Allan was first elected to Parliament in 1999 as the Member for Bendigo East.
She and her husband are raising their family in Bendigo – the community she was born and raised.
