Moderator Richard Willingham will be joined by Judge Liz Gaynor and media lawyer Justin Quill.

Judge Liz Gaynor was appointed to the County Court of Victoria in 2002 after almost 20 years at the Victorian Bar. The former journalist heads the County Court’s Media & Communications Committee and has a keen interest in court reporting and open justice. Her Honour hosts regular training sessions with journalism students and cadets as well as roundtable discussions with established court reporters.

Justin Quill is one of Australia’s most experienced media law practitioners. Quill is a partner with Thomson Geer and has practised in media law and general commercial litigation for 24 years. He is Deputy Chair of the Media and Communications Committee of the Law Council of Australia.

This event is focussed on improving understanding around court reporting, and will give journalists a unique opportunity to ask questions of those working
in the legal sector.
