Victorian media's biggest night of the year is coming soon.

Join us at Crown Palladium on Friday 18 March 2022 to celebrate the announcement of 29 individual Quill Award winners – plus the MPC Student and Young Journalists of the Year and the winner of the 2021 Gold Quill Award.

Other highlights of the dinner include presentation of the 46th Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the Year, the 2021 Harry Gordon Australian Sports Journalist of the Year and the Melbourne Press Club's annual Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ticket prices include a three-course gourmet meal and drinks from 6.30pm until 11:30pm.

COVID-19 Information

The Melbourne Press Club is proud to be able to run this event in person.

The club will provide an update to registered guests regarding requirements if restrictions are eased or change prior to the event.

How will this event differ in light of COVID-19?

In light of COVID-19 and in line with government and venue policies, guests can expect a slightly different experience.

All attendees must be fully vaccinated, and will be required to sign in using Service Victoria QR codes. The venue will ask for official proof of vaccination or a medical contraindication certificate, and you may be deined entry if one of these documents is not provided.

Face masks must be worn at all times on premise unless eating or drinking.

Please ensure you bring your facemask. We will have some available for sale at a nominal fee in need.

Hand sanitiser will be available at entry and in bathrooms.

What happens if I start to feel unwell before or after the event?

If you feel unwell before an event please do not attend the venue. You can speak to an MPC staff member on 03 8080 3610 or at admin@melbournepressclub.com to request a refund on your ticket.

If you begin to feel unwell in the immediate aftermath or in the days after this event, please seek a COVID-19 test and follow self-isolation rules. If your results are positive, please contact the Melbourne Press Club team on 03 8080 3610 or at admin@melbournepressclub.com immediately.

What if the event needs to be cancelled last minute?

If COVID-19 restrictions prevent us from hosting this event, we will communicate with you to arrange refunds for your ticket. If possible, we will also provide you with the option of attending at a rescheduled date. Please contact us on 03 8080 3610 or at admin@melbournepressclub.com if you have any questions about this process.

What time do the Quills start?

Guests can arrive from 6:30pm and will be ushered to their tables inside the Palladium. Proceedings will start at 7:00pm for an 11:30 finish.

Are Melbourne Press Club events exclusively for members?

Anyone can attend Melbourne Press Club events, though if you are not a financial member please choose the non-member option when registering. To find out more about becoming a member, click here.

How do I find out more about Melbourne Press Club events?

Is the venue accessible?

Crown Palladium is a wheelchair accessible venue. Please notify us of any accessibility requirements prior to the event by contacting admin@melbournepressclub.com.

How do I inform the venue about my dietary requirements?

You can advise us of dietary requirements by answering the relevant question in the online registration form. Requests will also be received via admin@melbournepressclub.com up to 1 week before the night.

What if I want to join my friends at a particular table?

If someone in your party has arranged to book a table, you can indicate your seating request in the relevant field in the online registration form. Bookings can also be made by phone.

What is the Melbourne Press Club's refund policy?

Bookings for Melbourne Press Club events can be cancelled and refunded up to 7 days prior to an event.
