Australia’s defamation law has become so plaintiff-friendly that Sydney is now the defamation capital of the world. It’s a big challenge to investigative journalism, a huge cost to media companies and a growing problem for ordinary people posting on social media. But not all the distinguished speakers on our 17 May panel agreed there was a need for reform.
