Vale Evan Whitton


Evan Whitton, one of the finest Australian investigative journalists and editors of the 20th Century, has died in Sydney at the age of 90.

Whitton, whose reporting led to the decriminalisation of abortion in Victoria, was inducted into the Australian Media hall of Fame in November 2017.

In a speech recorded for the national Hall of Fame launch in Sydney in 2017 Whitton distilled some advice from his long and illustrious career into a few points of advice for young journalists.
