The Melbourne Press Club has a new major media sponsor – The Eileen Berry Trust.

The Trust, founded by distinguished Melbourne editor Eileen Berry, produces not-for-profit education publications for parents with children aged between 12 and 17.

After a long career as a senior editor at The Age, Eileen worked for APN in Queensland and Fairfax New Zealand before joining Metro Media Publishing as founding editor of The Weekly Review.

Eileen, who is also a vice president of the Melbourne Press Club, said she was delighted the Trust was able to add its support to the work of the Club.

“As a Melbourne journalist through and through, I understand what an important role the Club plays in supporting our industry and promoting excellent journalism,” she said.

Club CEO Mark Baker said the new sponsorship would make an important contribution to expanding the Club’s role as one of the leading independent media associations in Australia.

“Our sponsors are vital to us and the support of The Eileen Berry Trust is greatly appreciated,” he said.
