Please note: The Melbourne Press Club will be launching a new Hall of Fame website in November 2017. In the meantime, you can read about the new NSW inductees in our E-book.

The Melbourne Press Club’s Australian Media Hall of Fame celebrates those reporters, photographers, cartoonists, editors, proprietors and managers who have made outstanding contributions to the craft of journalism and enhanced the history of the news media in Australia.

The project, which began as The Victorian Media Hall of Fame in 2012 with 81 foundation inductees, is now being built into an national celebration of great journalism, past and present.

In December 2015 the Hall of Fame found its first physical home with the opening of a standing exhibition and gallery hosted by State Library Victoria. The exhibition’s initial focus was on the work and careers of six major Australian war correspondents. In December 2016, the Club and SLV will launch a new exhibition highlighting the work of political cartoonists in Victoria.

The first national indictions into the Australian Media Hall of Fame will made in 2017.

A book telling the stories of all of the foundation inductees – Media Legends: Journalists who Helped Shape Australia – is available from the Club in hardback or deluxe cased editions. To purchase a copy, contact admin@melbournepressclub.com or call us on 03 9614 2779.
