Freelancing has its allures and dangers, and it’s a growing inevitability for journalists starting out in today's media environment

At our next Edit event we’ll be diving into the detail: how much to charge, how to get your foot in the door and how to build a solid reputation as a freelancer. With a special panel featuring:

Jo Chandler, award-winning freelance journalist focusing on Pacific and environmental reporting
Erik Jensen, editor-in-chief of The Saturday Paper, journalist and author of Acute Misfortune: The Life and Death of Adam Cullen
Denham Sadler, freelance journalist and former editor at Private Media

The Edit is a special program of events hosted by the Melbourne Press Club to help the next generation of Melbourne reporters, producers and editors hone their skills and develop their careers.
