The Gordon Fellowships is a national program to enable social justice journalism. It is named in honour of Michael Gordon, the respected former Age political editor who passed away in February 2018.

The fellowships provide annual grants which fund reporting projects in areas including Indigenous affairs, migration policy, human rights and international development.

We encourage applications from journalists who identify as being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, as well as journalists from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The program is open to all journalists, photographers and videographers working in news organisations large and small, across all media, as well as freelance journalists and accomplished journalism students.

The Michael Gordon Journalism Fellowships are supported by The Copyright Agency Cultural Fund, with further support from the National Press Club of Australia, Nine Entertainment and Robyn Carter.

We would be grateful if you would display the flyer in your newsroom and pass details of the program on to colleagues and staff.
