Australian Press Council scholarship to prepare freelancers for war zones

The Australian Press Council is seeking applications from freelance journalists for a scholarship in hostile environments safety training valued at approximately $3,000.

The Press Council has established the award in conjunction with risk and crisis management consultancy firm Beltin Group out of concern about the risks run by freelancers working in war zones and the threat to press freedom posed by the security situation.
