Entries for the 2020 Harry Gordon Australian Sports Journalist of the Year Award – the premier sports journalism prize in Australia – are now open.

The award recognises excellence in sports journalism in all media across all codes and all regions.

The winner will receive a $7,500 prize, a certificate and national recognition for their achievement. The prize is provided by the Melbourne Press Club.

Harry Gordon, one of the greatest sports writers, war correspondents and editors of his generation, died in January 2015. This award honours his legacy, the esteem with which his peers held him, and his extraordinary contribution to Australian journalism.

The deadline for entries is Friday 5 February 2021. The winner will be announced at an event in March/April 2021.
