Entries for the Melbourne Press Club’s annual Quill, Perkin, and Gordon Awards have now closed and judging has commenced.

Shortlists for all awards will be released in late February ahead of our awards dinner on Friday 6 March 2020. 

The Graham Perkin Australian Journalist of the Year will be judged by ABC News Breakfast host Michael Rowland, managing editor of The Australian newspaper Helen Trinca, and former Sunday Age editor Duska Sulicich.

Judges for our 2019 Harry Gordon Australian Sports Journalist of the Year include  celebrated sports journalist Louise Evans OAM, double Perkin award winner Andrew Rule, and ABC Offsiders host and prominent sports commentator Kelli Underwood.

The Melbourne Press Club 2019 Gold Quill, which recognises the best among the year's Quills winners, will be judged by 3AW journalist and producer Heidi Murphy, Newscop’s Tom Salom, and recently retired ABC Melbourne Mornings presenter Jon Faine.
