Media Iftar Dinner 2021

'Examining the unexamined assumptions made in the production and coverage of news'

The Melbourne Press Club and the Australian Intercultural Society are delighted to host a special Ramadan Iftar dinner for the media, where members from a cross-section of Melbourne's diverse society can come together to reflect, meet, engage in and enjoy the Muslim community.

Speakers have been announced for the event, including:
Dr Nasya Bahfen, senior lecturer at Latrobe University,
Steve Carey, partner at Newsflash Media,
Christina Zhou, journalist at the ABC, and
George Donikian, media professional, anchor, and filmmaker.

Organisers AIS have been operating in Melbourne since 2000 with the aims of promoting multiculturalism and fostering intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
