Storytelling: CALD journalist round table

Culturally and linguistically diverse journalists and those working in multicultural media are invited to join Tito Ambyo and Osman Faruqi for a frank and fearless round table conversation about the next steps we need to take beyond ‘diversity’.

This free event will provide a private space for journalists with CALD backgrounds, offering the chance to meet and discuss the industry.

Tito is a Melbourne Press Club board member, award winning journalist, and journalism trainer at RMIT University. He has been actively involved in improving diversity in Australian media as a committee member of Media Diversity Australia. He also co-hosts the Talking Indonesia podcast and is an active researcher currently finishing his anthropology PhD on digital storytelling.

Osman is culture news editor for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald. His previous work with ABC Radio National’s Background Briefing earned him a Kennedy Award, and his podcast The Culture won best arts and culture podcast at the Australian Podcast Awards.
