Join co-editors of ‘Upheaval: Disrupted lives in journalism’ Andrew Dodd and Matthew Ricketson for a special MPC discussion with a panel of experienced media names; Emma Alberici, Amanda Meade, and Michael West.
Andrew Dodd has worked as a reporter across Australian media, and has turned his attention back on the industry with Upheaval, the foundation of ABC RN’s Media Report, and as a media writer for Crikey.
Matthew Ricketson is an academic and journalist. He has headed journalism programs at three universities and is now professor of communication at Deakin University.
Emma Alberici’s 30 years media experience saw her reporting from across Australia and around the world, including six years as the host of the ABC’s Lateline program and four years as the public broadcaster’s Europe Correspondent.
Amanda Meade is Guardian Australia’s media correspondent and writes media diary the Weekly Beast. She has been a journalist since 1989, first at the Sydney Morning Herald and then at The Australian, in Canberra and Sydney.
Michael West spent two decades working as a journalist, stockbroker, editor and finance commentator before striking out on his own in July 2016. After eight years as a commentator with The Australian and another eight years with the Sydney Morning Herald as a journalist and editor, Michael founded this website to focus on journalism of high public interest.
