Covering state budgets can be a daunting experience with thousands of pages of figures and spin to wade through.

This lunchtime Masterclass webinar with ABC State Political Reporter Richard Willingham, Nine’s Heidi Murphy and The Age’s Josh Gordon will give you a chance to hear all the best tips and ask questions about what to look for on budget day.

Richard Willingham is senior state political reporter for ABC News in Melbourne. He has been a journalist in Melbourne for over a decade, joining The Age in 2010 before moving to the ABC in 2017. He has previously spent time in Canberra as a political reporter. He has won two Quill awards in the news writing and radio categories.

Heidi Murphy is a television reporter at Channel Nine, recently changing careers after 20 years of radio work in Melbourne including a long stint as executive producer of Neil Mitchell’s top-rating morning radio program. She’s had stints as a news presenter, editor and award-winning state political reporter in the 3AW newsroom.

Josh Gordon is a senior reporter at The Age. An award-winning journalist and commentator, Josh has almost two decades’ experience reporting economics and politics in Melbourne and Canberra and four Quills to his name. Between 2017 and 2021 he was RMIT ABC Fact Check’s Economics and Finance Editor.
