This important MPC Masterclass webinar, moderated by multi-award winning ABC national medical reporter and mental health advocate Sophie Scott, features:

  • Rachel Green, CEO of national mental health support and advocacy organisation SANE. Rachel has expertise across the mental health, not-for-profit and government sectors including leading the establishment of the Australian National Mental Health Commission.
  • Osher Günsberg, SANE Ambassador and media personality with lived experience of mental illness. As one of Australia’s most recognisable media personalities, Osher has been a guest in the living rooms of Australians for over 20 years. He is also author of the best-selling memoir Back, After the Break.
  • Dr Jaelea Skehan OAM, director of mental ill-health prevention organisation Everymind. A registered psychologist, Jaelea is passionate about finding better connections between research and practice and ensuring knowledge translation in suicide prevention policy and practice.

This session covers mental health issues and suicide. Services are available if you or someone you know needs support, or just someone to talk to. As well as SANE, some options include: Lifeline, Beyond Blue, Kids Helpline, Headspace, Suicide Call Back Service, and QLife.
