The 14th Robert Rose Lecture - an annual initiative to raise funds for people with spinal cord injuries and their families - was presented by Brian Nankervis, writer, film and TV producer, and comedian.
Brian is known for his work on Let The Blood Run Free, Hey Hey It's Saturday, Boys and Balls, Class Clowns, and Rockwiz, and is currently hosting The Friday Revue on Radio 774 ABC Melbourne. The Robert Rose Foundation was set up by Collingwood football legend Bob Rose after the death of his son Robert - a football player for Collingwood and also for Footscray - who had been left quadraplegic by a car accident in 1975.
The Foundation raises funds to assist people with spinal cord injuries and their families with mobility and sporting equipment, home modifications, education programs and counselling. This year's Robert Rose lecture was hosted by media personality Michael Christian.
