Hear from our three guests on what it takes to transform a podcast into a memorable piece of journalism.
Janak Rogers specialises in long-form audio and has produced work for the BBC World Service, Deutsche Welle, Radio France Internationale, Radio Netherlands, ABC Radio Australia, ABC Radio National, Australia Network Television and others. He is currently making an 8-part podcast series for SBS, due for release in late 2023. Janak is an Associate Lecturer in Journalism at RMIT, where he teaches broadcast media and podcasting.
Jo Lauder is a journalist living on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne. She's the host of the ABC climate podcast, Who's Gonna Save Us? and a reporter on triple j Hack. She hosted the most recent season of the narrative history podcast, Saving the Franklin and has worked on podcasts such as the Pineapple Project and The Hook Up.
Richard Baker is a multi-awarding winning investigative journalist and creator, reporter and host of chart-topping podcast series Phoebe’s Fall, Wrong Skin, The Last Voyage of the Pong Su. He left The Age after 23 years in 2022 to form his own podcast and documentary company. Richard has two new podcast series coming out soon with LiSTNR and is working with major production companies here and overseas on documentaries for streamers.
